In collaboration with Omnia Medical, PsiFGuard has been designed to enhance the accuracy of sacroiliac (SI) joint procedures. With real-time guidance technology, PsiFGuard facilitates precise SI joint detection ensuring safer and more effective outcomes for patients while boosting surgeons’ confidence.

Precise, Cost-Effective Control
Equipped with DSG Technology, PsiFGuard provides audible signals. High-pitched tones represent soft tissues like blood or joint space, while low-pitched tones indicate harder structures such as cortical bone. This real-time feedback, along with its 130mm length and 10mm graduations, ensures accurate placement and may reduce the need for pre-operative imaging. PsiFGuard cost-effective and minimally invasive design is ideal for complex anatomical cases, offering safety and reliability throughout the procedure.
Improvement in K-Wire Placement Accuracy
In a cadaveric study of sacroiliac joint fusion via the posterior intra-articular approach, the PsiFGuard demonstrated 89.47% increase in K-wire placement accuracy compared to the traditional freehand technique. This highlights its potential to enhance surgical precision during the initial and critical K-wire insertion phase.
Surgical Technique
Activate
Activate the PsiFGuard by pulling out the paper tab on top of the plastic handle.
Drill & Listen
Advance the PsiFGuard through the joint, between the sacrum and the ilium and pay close attention to the audio feedback provided.
Remove the handle and the Stylet
Once the desired location is reached, remove the Electronic Handle and Sensory Stylet while leaving the cannulated shaft.
Insert the Guidewire
Place the guidewire through the cannulated shaft. Remove the cannulated shaft and continue with placement of the sacroiliac joint fusion device per its implantation instructions.
